President Clinton Receives the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Award for Humanitarian Contributions to the Health of Humankind

President William J. Clinton received the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Award for Humanitarian Contributions to the Health of Humankind at the annual awards dinner hosted by the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases. The Carter Award is awarded to individuals whose outstanding humanitarian efforts and achievements have contributed significantly to improving the health of humankind. Criteria on which selection is based include:
• Legislative or administrative contributions;
• Humanitarian service; and/or
• Public education activities.
President Clinton is the ninth recipient of the Carter Award. The Award is named for former President and Mrs. Carter, who as outstanding humanitarians, have worked tirelessly to improve the quality of life for people worldwide.
