big protest in San Fran tomorrow, join police, nurses firefighters&teachers
Join nurses, firefighters, teachers, community activists, union
members, seniors, students and more in protesting Arnold's attempts to
privatize California's public pension program, dangerously increase
nurse-to-patient ratios in hospitals and cut education funding via an
expensive and unnecessary special election.

What: Protest Governor Schwarzenegger
When: Tuesday, April 5th, 5:30 P.M.
Where: San Francisco Ritz Carlton, 600 Stockton Street (cross street
is California), San Francisco.

Come out after work or school and give Governor Schwarzenegger a big
San Francisco welcome!

For more information on the Governor's attacks on working families and
his proposed special election, go to http://www.calaborfed.org.

Whether or not you can make it to the protest, please be sure to sign
our petition calling on Governor Schwarzenegger to stop his efforts to
repeal guaranteed retirements benefits and eliminate death and
disability benefits for police and firefighters.

Governor Schwarzenegger is sponsoring a statewide initiative that will
privatize California's public pension system. But the poorly drafted
measure, along with forcing cops, firefighters, nurses, teachers and
scientists into risky stock market retirement accounts, contains
serious side consequences, as it will eliminate death benefits for the
widows and children of firefighters and cops killed in the line of
duty. Under their flawed plan, any such guaranteed payments, including
payments to severely injured public safety workers, would be illegal.

The Governor should drop his flawed plan, and at the same time, save
the taxpayers the cost of a $70 million fall special election.
