A good sign
Edited on Mon Apr-04-05 09:45 PM by SteveIrving1
According to the Denver Post, "The short-term benefits of 'machine' politics have helped the GOP majority advance President Bush's agenda in Congress, but the long-term effects could prove damaging to the party and the nation, warns former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, architect of the 1994 Republican takeover of Congress… 'You get to a point where winning the next amendment, getting the next vote, making the next speech gets so overwhelming, you forget why you're doing it,' he says, explaining how the Republican takeover soured."

Even there own understand the dangers of there actions.

1. Gingrich was at least fiscally conservative and believed
in smaller government. I think he may be having a hard time swallowing the big deficits and the expansion of federal control over the states under the Bushco administration.

2. Actually, Gingrich was the architect of the hypocrisy.
He's the one who pioneered the empty rhetoric and socially divisive 'scortched Earth' political warfare. He's very much the father of why we are social a divided country today.

4. Wonder what brought this on...
Last I heard of Newt, he was glued to his computer writing book reviews for Amazon.com.
