I got a letter from Kay Bailey Hutchison today
Yes, she's (supposedly) my Senator. The weird part...she was thanking me for writing her regarding MATRIX (Multistate Anti-Terrorism Information Exchange). This came as a huge shock to me since I haven't written her since January, and that was asking her to stand on the sixth.

Am I going to get a letter now thanking me for writing every time there's an issue out there, even if I don't write her? :wtf:

1. Probably
I received seven letters from her today, all in response to my emails. I have changed the subject which they require one to enter and sure enough, the form letter will reflect that subject irregardless of the text of the letter. Nice to know they are reading the things...

3. That's funny
What really got me, I had already gotten the form letter response on election reform from the e-mail that I sent before. There was no reason for another letter to be sent out. Our tax dollars hard at work!

2. Sounds like the staffers put you in the wrong pile.
I write her all of the time and always get the thank you form letter that goes out to everyone who writes in opposition. I'll give her staff credit - they always reply, unlike Cornyn's group. He's never replied and I send him the same letters as I send Hutchison.

Keep writing them!!!

:applause:

4. Let me know if you get one from her
acknowledging my protest of her attending a function with Annthrax Coulter as "Keynote speaker".
I never heard back on that one! :eyes:

7. Thank ye now, hear?
I worked so hard on it too...quoting KBH on "bipartisanship" and "working together", interspersed with rabid Coulter quotes and asking if breaking bread with her advances that "One Big Happy State" dream of hers in any way, shape, or form.
I have a feeling KBH intends to blow me off, but hey...just in case! :hi:

8. I just received a mass of emails from her...
These are in ref. to letters I wrote in Feb. At least she writes back, Culberson and Cornyn NEVER write back.

9. Kay Bailey Hutchinson
Y'all's bashing of Kay Bailey Hutchinson is exactly why this country is so divided. She is by far the most reasonable Republican Senator in the Senate. I truly believe she is only a Republican so the psycho Republicans who only vote for Republicans regardless of their stance on critical social, economic, and foreign policy issues (I'd say just the opposite of yourselves) will vote for her. If she had the same stance on all of the issues that she has now and ran as a Democrat I would guarantee you that she would not get elected.
And more on the topic of what you are actually talking about Senators have way too much going on in their lives to write individual letters to the countless thousands that send them letters every month, so you should be thankful to receive any sort of reply.

12. Yeah, she's made quite a career of being the 2nd worst Senator from Texas.
John Cornyn has taken Phil Gram's place as being the worst.

Of course she doesn't write letters. But her staff is clueless & the form letters are stupid.

"Not bad for a Republican" is still not good for me.
