Mike Allen wrote the stories about the Schiavo memo for the Washington Post. He was interviewed by Laura Ingraham this morning on her radio show. Allen made the following statements that showed a clear bias to the RW, or fear of retaliation.
Allen: What's interesting about that early polling, which was as much as 80% against what Congress did, the Republicans said, accurately I think, that this proves we didn't do it for political reasons. Because, if we did it for political reasons, we didn't have very good data.
Ingraham: ...Harkin had to call him last night and say that was in that grouping of papers that you handed me......
Allen: That's exactly right. Its important for your listeners to realize that there is no indication that Senator Martinez ..... that he or anybody else in his office knew that. ...his legal counsel went to his chief of staff, and said I didn't realize it would get this out of hand, he did not even realize that he printed it... He said he did not intend it for the Senator...There is no indication that the Senator Martinez even read this...
So, Mike Allen says he believes that Martinez' legal counsel wrote the memo, printed it without knowing it, accidentally gave it to Martinez without knowing he did, Martinez never read it, Martinez gave it to Harken without knowing what it was, Martinez' lawyer never came forward to Martinez. Allen also did not dispute Ingraham's statements that the memo came in a grouping of papers. Ingraham later said it was late at night and papers were all over the place. Allen didn't challenge that.
Around the net, RWs are attacking Mike Allen. It looks to me like he's buckling under.
