Missile Defense policy from Democrats? forget it ...
good defense policy makes you safer ... spending money on bogus weapons systems not only makes you poorer, much poorer, but it makes you weaker too ... of course, when you're extra sensitive about being called weak on defense, you lay low when discussions about eliminating massive weapons programs need to be discussed ...

and once again, the lights are on but there's nobody home at the DNC ... skeptical? don't like all this Democrat bashing? no problem ... take a spin over to www.democrats.org and do a search on "missile" or "missile defense" ... don't expect to find a position on the issue ...

the truth is this "shoot down those evil N. Korean missiles" boondoggle doesn't work ... billions upon billions of dollars and it just doesn't work ... if the Democrats ever hope to lead this country out of the darkness, they need to stop hiding and worrying about republican spin and get out there and lead on the issues ... they aren't do it because they are worried about the political risks ... that's not good leadership and it's not good politics !!

Title: Top US Scientists Urge Halt to Funding for Missile Defense Deployment

A group of top US scientists, including nine Nobel Prize winners, called on Congress to stop funding deployment of interceptor missiles for a controversial ground-based missile defense system, saying it was incapable of defending against a real attack.

In a letter, they said the funding should be eliminated until the system can be shown to work through tests that mimic real-world conditions.<skip>

"As scientists and engineers, many with long experience in advising the government on military issues, we conclude that this missile defense system will have essentially no capability to defend against a real missile attack," the scientists added.

Asserting that the system does have utility when it does not, they said, "is dangerous and could contribute to unwise decisions by US policymakers."<skip>
