Armor plate presentation to Rummy was repulsive
A soldier presented Rummy with an armor plate that saved the soldiers life. Rummy for years has not been responsive to the cries from military families and soldiers about no protection for vehicles. Then a soldier takes rummy to task in an answer and question the last time Rummy visited there over the same issues of not enough armor. Now we have a soldier presenting Rummy with armor yesterday. What a disgrace and shame on the media for not seeing this shameless act in front of the cameras. But Bush had a fake turkey on Thanksgiving and the media thought that was just swell.

1. was it a subtle protest of all the lives lost?

due to our seeming inability to get the armor to *everyone* in iraq on a decent time table? what if we had waited on the invasion till we were actually ready?

yeah, i know rummy. we go to war with the army we have, not the army we want. but x-ray laser pistols and personal force fields aren't really what i'm talking about here.

2. Didn't see it but
It seems like this calls attention to the problem. The message to Rummy, in spite of any photo op spin, would seem to be: "Armor saves lives."

5. Just the opposite. The soldier said the armor stopped a bullet
meant for him. It was a setup to avoid the bad press Rummy got the last time he visted troops. I'm happy the soldier is alive but that was so staged.

6. Right. A soldier picks up a telephone and calls rummy...
"I want to present you with a piece of armor that saved my life".

Give me a break, this had to have been cooked up by the psych-ops unit.
