The House is the body closest to the people.

The problem is that in 2004 the GOP emerged with its biggest election night win in the House in nearly 75 years (at least 50 and I think you have to go back to 1928)with a 231-203-1 majority.

The biggest reason is that states like Pennsylvania , Florida, Ohio, and Michigan have GOP gerrymandered districts.

Florida is s state where Democrats get nearly 50% in statewide partisan performance yet the GOP has an 18-7 edge in the congressional delegation.

Assuming we can finally knock off vulnerable GOP incumbents (thanks to poor Democratic support for House candidates, they rarely get top notch opponents) and narrow the majority a little , we then need to go after the partisan redistricting schemes.

Florida has a ballot measure and all we need to do is hold the public support then none partisn redistricting will cause the GOP to loose at least 3 seats.

I don care what the blogs are telling you , I dont care about all the 2008 bullshit around here, I dont care about anything else, etc. THIS is a measure we need to support then w need to get ballot measures up everywhere in every state ASAP.

Even Democratic states have horrible incumbant protection plans that limit out potential growth so get ballot measures up in Democratic states like California and New Mexico not to mention New York.

Sounds good, I'll need the name of the bill and the phone numbers of those involved.

You made me day with this thread, calling "officials" is one of my favorite forms of protest.

:kick: and nominated.
