Bush at the American Society of Newspaper Editors Convention (04/14/2005)? SEVERAL times called the leader of India "Musharraf" who happens to be from Pakistan NOT India...what an idiot!!!

omg and did you see that bush was literally drooling? bush had spittle running from the corner of his mouth the entire time

<shaking head>

strange that i haven't heard one word about it anywhere in MSM, i watched and can't believe he is getting a pass on this...

c-span ran it i wonder if they will re-run it?

1. DavidCorn just discussed this on C-Span Wash. Journal.
A caller asked if he had heard * say that. Corn said he thought he heard it and had downloaded the C-Span transcript to read later.

* is an idiot. I can't believe no one calls him on stuff like this. It's not as if it is a one time slip up, he does it all the time. If Clinton did this, the MSM would be all over his ass.

BTW, some C-Span callersagain blamed Clinton for all of our nation's ills. They'll blame him even after he's dead.

2. This was also a HUGE insult to both countries
Since they loathe one another.... yet another shining example of *'s stellar diplomacy.

9. fyi
India and Pakistan don't really loathe one another. Their relationship is deep and complex. The people are closely related literally and figuratively. As always it is those who hunger for power that create the conflict in order to enrich themselves. Any time there is a cultural exchange like a cricket match the two countries practically stop everything to enjoy it. There are some deep seated hatreds as well, these relate in part to the bloddy partition after independence. Interestingly, there would not have been a partition had the UK not supported it.

3. Transcript here
He says it in a clunky way, but I don't think he got it mixed up.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2005/04/20050414-4.html

Looks like the line you are referring to is:

"We got a lot of people around the world who are more than willing to share intelligence and to help follow leads, and to bring people to justice. Today I was with the Indian Foreign Minister, and we were talking about the neighborhood. And I reminded him that I was appreciative of the efforts of President Musharraf and his efforts in fighting al Qaeda. I thought it was in the best interests of the United States and India that President Musharraf be tough when it comes to running down people in caves that are trying to do harm to free people. After all, India is a free country. It made sense to encourage a leader like President Musharraf. "

5. Well I hope you are right
I've found the whitehouse.gov site to be surprisingly accurate in all the crap Bush says, but perhaps they scrubed it since both countries could nuke each other if they wanted to.

Any reaction in Inida or Pakistan?

10. India or Pakistan what is the difference?
After all they are both "brown people." What a turd.

At one point he wanted India to send troops to Iraq. Gee, * Hindus w/ guns
telling Muslims what to do. Good thinking.

12. Please don't get caught up in the perceptions that are
being pushed upon you. Hindu nationalists and Muslin extremists would not mix well together. But the vast majority of Hindus and Muslims co-exist quite well.

13. Understood ....
.... but it just shows what an utter lack of understanding * has for the world.
Islamics around the world see *'s war in Iraq as criminal and to draw Hindu
troops into it is gasoline on the fire.

The man is clueless.
