DeLay Update (More Bad News for Him) from LUTD
From Light Up The Darkness--see original post for Links

http://www.lightupthedarkness.org/blog/?view=plink&id=727

Another Republican Congressman is suggesting that DeLay step down.. Rep. Tom Tancredo of Colorado said "Right now, I would not encourage him to leave. If he chose to resign as majority leader until these matters are resolved, that's probably not the worst idea."

The New York Times reports that ten former Republican members of Congress have criticized the changes in the ethics rules which have been used to protect DeLay from investigation of ethics violations. "We felt grave concern," the letter added, "when the Republican leadership changed the ethics rules several weeks ago to require a bipartisan majority vote to even investigate a charge of ethical misconduct. We saw it as an obvious action to protect Majority Leader Tom DeLay."

The New York Times also reports that "Representative George Miller, Democrat of California, asked the House Resources Committee to examine the work of Jack Abramoff, a longtime lobbyist friend of Mr. DeLay, in representing the government of the Northern Mariana Islands, an American commonwealth in the Pacific."

3. No way....
I want DeLay to fight this every inch of the way. I want he and his cronies to kick, scream, subvert Democracy, call judges every name in the book, change more laws to protect him....up until about November of next year. I want the arrogance, the filth and total disregard for our Democracy to be fresh in voter's minds up until the day they step into the voting booths in November, 2006. Then.....cut him loose, or hopefully, the voters will CUT HIM loose.

DeLay's the best thing to happen to Dems for quite some time. He personifies the Republican soul. We WANT this reminder around for a while longer, not silencing him now.
