Constitutional Conversation

National Archives
Aspen Institute
National Constitution Center
Washington, District of Columbia (United States)
ID: 186408 - 04/21/2005 - 0:57 - $29.95

O'Connor, Sandra Day, Associate Justice, U.S. Supreme Court
Scalia, Antonin, Associate Justice, U.S. Supreme Court
Breyer, Stephen, Associate Justice, U.S. Supreme Court
Russert, Tim, Moderator, NBC Television, Meet the Press
Isaacson, Walter, President and CEO, Aspen Institute
Stengel, Richard, President and CEO, National Constitution Center
Weinstein, Allen, Archivist of the U.S.

At an evening event titled "Constitutional Conversation" moderated by Tim Russert, justices talked about the role and operation of the Supreme Court, the state of civics knowledge and education, and the evolution of democratic institutions and principles during periods of societal change. They also talked about constitutional interpretation, judicial precedents, federalism, and various issues before the court.

The event at the National Archives' McGowan Theater was also sponsored by the National Constitution Center and the Aspen Institute, and a brief introductory video promoting the National Constitution Center is not included in video copies available for purchase.
