Another shoe or two about to drop...on serial scumbag Bolton's head?!

:spank: :spank: :spank: :spank: :spank:

This, according to Steve Clemons at "The Washington Note" -

There is a story brewing regarding John Bolton's role as a disruptive force in the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom that involves a well-respected scholar, Jeremy Gunn. Dr. Gunn resigned his positions as Director of Research and Deputy General Counsel of the Commission because of matters that "related to Mr. Bolton."

TWN does not know more, but knows that Mr. Gunn has decided to share his experiences with Mr. Bolton with the Senate Foreign Relations Committee so as to have a more complete record of John Bolton's profile.

There is also a case of another still-closely-held, serious abuse incident that occurred at the State Department. TWN has no idea who the individual is -- but just that the incident is as offensive as the one involving Christian Westermann. For reasons I don't understand, this incident is still blacked out and serious political players in D.C. are trying to bring the incident and matter into the public record on Bolton -- while still protecting otherwise innocent people who might be harmed when matters are disclosed. This sort of issue is complicated -- as there seem to be many victims of Bolton abuse in Washington, but coaxing them to come forward and speak requires time and investigation. To be fair, John Bolton should also be given opportunity to respond.

1. Is this why the dems
were insisting on a closed door meeting for the hearings last week? The repukes know that they wouldn't endanger someone or they wouldn't come forward if they were public and they were refusing to not have a public discussion.

2. Yes. It blew back on repubs when Voinovich balked and c-span documented
the chaos that ensued. Lugar was thrown for a loop, the Dems pounced and got most of what they asked for. All on c-span, for the world to see. Thanks Sen Allen (R-Va), you dim bulb, for pushing the open meeting!

3. Actually, in Schimpanski-land, being a scumbag is a prerequisite . . .
for higher office. As is being an incompetent, as long as yer loyal to hiz highness and keep his analport nicely moistened.

But for policy purposes, let's hit the incompetence button. That's a gift that'll keep on giving, not only with Bolton but with the whole fetid crew.

4. If Bolton had a shred of...
decency or respect for his country or himself, he would remove himself from consideration for the post. The bush baby is SO concerned about how this affects his "manly image" he's willing to turn the entire proceeding into a horrible national nightmare.
You screwed up Chimpy. This guy has as much business being the Ambassador as I do being a nuclear (that's pronounced 'noo-clee-ur' Chimp, not 'noo-cue-ler' :eyes:) submarine commander.
Throw in the towel Bolton. There must be a Conservative Youth camp somewhere that needs a headmaster.

Bush is a spoiled brat and thinks he can get away with anything because the republicans in control. He doesn't give a damn what this looks like. He knows he has little sheeple who'd do whatever he wants. He's a control freak who's stubborn.

5. Ya know, the more Bush insists on supporting Bolton
while accusations continue to mount, the worse Bush will look and sound.

I have to hope that the average unenlightened citizen would put 2 and 2 together and say "WTF?"

6. It seems to me that this is good for Bush.
He gets to say look how the congress acted to stop my choice for UN ambassador.

"They're obstructing the flow of the government. I am trying to be a uniter, but they won't join with me."

It gives the Republicans another chance to say that the Democrats are the problem. First that 5% of the appointees that they wounldn't take for the bench, and now this!

Much like Shiavo, if she lived, it was good for them, if she died, it was great for their agenda.

I think they are purposely picking nutjobs (Gonzales, Chertoff, Bolton) so they can turn the no-votes into a campaign issue in 06.

7. What was funny about last week was how the repukes tried to spin it
that the Dems are obstructionists. But it was the repukes who delayed the vote when they discovered they didn't have the votes.

9. sounds like the next 2 weeks is revenge time for powell and armitage
having them express concerns publically indicates that there is enough dissent from the republican party's moderate establishment and internationalist wings that they feel they can speak out.

they are not afraid of george bush any longer. he has much less influence and power than once thought.

the house of cards is beginning to sway.

this is a good day.

10. Bush needs to stop listening to Karl Rove when it comes time to
nominate. A sociopath will find other sociopaths to be "good people". They are not.

Bush is incompetent and should be fired from his job.
