Poll question: Does the Fristian Right help or hurt chances in 2006 races?
Edited on Mon Apr-25-05 05:41 PM by zulchzulu
2006 will be another year where the Gay is The Enemy in regards to same-sex marriage. It's an old bone Chimpy and The PNAC Fellas throw to the Fristian Zombie Right. Will their over-reaching help the Democrats in 2006 or will they still show up in great numbers to match our generally carefree and clueless base?

1. It seems like everybodys using the word 'Fristian' now
Wasn't that just invented today?

I think it'll be just another off-year.

And I love that quote, dude.

4. I like Fristian Fundamentlists
Has a nice ring and anyhow, I'm tired of Christianity getting bashed - we're all not like him!

5. Howard Dean needs to use that term in a speech
He can say something like "The Democratic Party is willing to embrace the Christians out there looking for a party that cares about them versus the Fristians that are willing to not care about their rights, their wallets or their children's future..."

It is time to separate the Christians from the Fristians.

7. I agree.
This might be an excellent opportunity to drive that wedge and highlight the differences between mainstream Christianity and fundamentalist hijackers.

10. This is exactly what the Republicans have done to us for 20 years
He's turned people who believe that what a woman decides for herself is personal into babykillers

He's turned people who believe that guns should require background checks to ensure only law abiding citizens own guns into bleeding-hearts who want to take away everyone's gun and melt them all down.

It's all about terminology. Fundamental Fristians works for me!

On edit note - don't think Frist is upset about all of us getting nasty about him. To him he's just going through the persecutions just like Jesus did. It's sick because Jesus is an awesome dude that is so much more than the 2 hours of gore in "The Passion of the Snuff Film"

12. Yeah, Randi Rhodes just came up with it today
Just a few hours ago, she coined the word on her show, and it's already working it's way into out lexicon, and I'm all for it. Good way to distinguish the Christians from the whackos.

2. Time will tell
I think we'll pick up seats, the magnitude of our victory is uncertain though. Getting the house or senate back would be really really tough, but not impossible. I think the right will sit this election out, pissed off that the republicans haven't been able to get anything done even with their support.

3. If Frist get away with ridding the filibuster he's fucked the repukes!!
Because Reid is going to pull the Senate Rule XIV which will force the democratic agenda on the floor for things areas as minimum wage, education, cheaper gas, jobs, veterans, etc and the repukes are either going to have to support the dems or explain to their voters back home why they don't want them to make better wages, ot pay for cheaper gas etc.

I'm so proud to be a democrat!!

9. I somehow see the Fristian appearance as a sign that
the repubs feel so secure in their cheating that they don't care anymore.

11. I want to be hopeful but with the recent appt of the new pope I am
very worried that he to will do his very best to influence the next election. My biggest fear is that people will go for it, especially if he pushhed through the witholding of communion etc.
The only hope is that the DNC pushes "It's the economy stupid!"

14. Other. Nothing helps OR hurts our chances of winning except
Diebold, EES, thugs intimidating voters and all other forms of cheating. We won the last two election pretenses.
