This New Florida Gun Law must be challanged (Shoot first ask later)
Edited on Thu Apr-28-05 07:53 AM by iceman_419
It is unconstitutional as the government is imposing clear and present danger on the citizens of Florida. The leniancey this bill gives to citizens it too much, and puts people in fear of living their own lives. The facts are that people who own a gun are more likely to to shoot either themselves or someone they know rather than a criminal. All this law does is turn idiots into vigilantees and make the state even more dangerous. I spit on the NRA and think all its members are scum and deserve partial if not full blame for all gun deaths that occur in America. If the ACLU doesn't challange this law then it shows how un-educated our society is and how it has lead to this B.S. and the republican take over.

4. It is now legal in Florida to shoot any one who you may perceive to be a
threat even if it is not in your home. That means any where, a shopping mall, a grocery parking lot, a street, where ever. Now I worry, will my anti Bush car and street signs be reason for me to be shot? The NRA wants this same law passed in all States.

6. My 86 year-old mother, sister, and brother-in-law live in Florida,
and I told them I will never step foot in FL again! Not sure, what will happen when my Mom passes away...she will be buried in Ohio. I will not put myself in danger. With a single word of disagreement, someone could be shot dead. Dumbest thing I've ever heard of!!

8. I had no intention of ever going to Florida again
But now I will be sure to tell other people I know not to go there, either. The first time some paranoid numbnuts goes stalking down the street, armed to the teeth and blowing understandably nervous people away on the sidewalks, how will the police react when he says that he was feeling threatened and merely protecting himself from those perceived threats? My reading of the law is that the guy can't be prosecuted.
