Just announced on the BBC. The Blairites are being killed off.

2. He won his seat (as expected)
but Labour are doing much badly than expected and the Conservatives are gaining across the board. Milburn was in charge of the election campaign and is jumping before he's pushed.

Private Eye insinuated there was something between him and a Labour party worker, and he had gone back to 'spend time with his family' the last time to, in fact, save his marriage. Perhaps it's that again.
