Purple finger spin
The corporate media rightwingnut hacks all spin the Iraqi election as a great thing. They speak with reverence towards the "brave people".
Sure they are but...THEY VOTED TO GET US OUT, correct?

I have read voter interviews stating that the main drive voters had was that they thought voting would hasten our departure. I believe that.
We only heard that sentiment for a brief blip. Now the information spinners are back at the controls.

Now that we aren't leaving I think is another reason for the increased violence.
My thought, after the "elections", was, "OMG, don't they know we aren't leaving based on a vote? Now we are going to disillusion these people further which will incite more carnage".

Are my thoughts even a little accurate?

1. Purple fingers for adults and purple people eaters for the kids no doubt..
Wasn't there once a song that went: "Ooh eee ooh ah ah, ting, tang, walla walla, bing bang"?

2. Not really accurate
At least, not yet.

If we see a surge of violence in the Shi'a areas of Iraq, then you'll know for sure that those who actually voted feel disillusioned or lied to. At this point, the incessant and well-organized insurgency is raging - still - in the Sunni area, and voter turnout among the Sunni was in the single digits percentage-wise.
