Jim Spiri to run against Rep. Heather Wilson (R) in NM

Spiri apparently tossed his hat in the ring today. He's an Independent. In his speech he said he would tack a sign to his office door saying "No Lobbyists Allowed."

Wilson is a well-known political troglodyte, and kneels shamelessly in submission to the BushCo High and Mighty Corporate Agenda for Ruining America.

As it happens, Big Dick Cheney was in ABq today, sucking up corporate big bucks at $1,000 a plate for Wilson's re-election bid to Congress in 2006.

No doubt the Dems will also put someone up to challenge Wilson. Only rumors so far.

1. Well, Romero has been beaten twice...
... but I don't know if that's enough to deter him again (hell, Pearce ran for years against Skeen without any expectation of winning).

But, anyone who's serious about avoiding lobbyists, if Spiri is, deserves some respect for having figured out a big part of the problem with the political process today. More likely, though, it's just a reaction to DeLay's current difficulties with same.

2. She's Howard Stern's most mocked member of congress
During the election, i got Howard to plug her opponent in the last election on the air and put a link to his donation place online on Howard's website.

I really don't know how likely an independant is to threatan her. He might even help her by splitting off votes from the democrat who runs. Just as the green party member did allowing her to win a couple of elections ago.

Another idiot to split anti-Wilson voting. Romero finally got the Greens to stop running people, and the idiocy continues

Patricia Madrid is apparently who is running on the Democratic side.
