Conservatives are so reasonable people...

Found this from another message board from 2001:

During the impeachment one conservative, when asked why he hated Clinton so much replied: "I'll tell you why I hate Clinton. I hate him because he is a womanizing, Elvis-loving, non-inhaling, truth-shading, war-protesting, draft-dodging, abortion-protecting, gay-promoting, gun-hating baby boomer. That's why."

And this is the crowed that we are trying to find bridges to?

the conservatives are winning and the middle and working classes are losing.

We can't reason with these 'conservatives', their design for us is to flip-burgers and work as temps until we're down-sized so they can get maximum dividends on their shares. We're meant to pay the bulk of taxes to pay for foreign imperialistic projects whilst 'conservatives' hire accountants to hide their money off-shore to avoid paying taxes.

It only works if the rubes are willing participants, right?

So......

One by one, do a John Galt-style "drop out". Quit playing a game that we can't win.

Make just enough to live on, hide as much income as possible ("legally", of course.....ahem.), barter, reuse, recycle, swap, refit and reengineer, or even just do without their consumer-society detritus.

IOW -- Take your ball and go home. Let the suits flip the burgers and restock the Mall Wart shelves with the cheap plastic crap.


(I know....my Mother-Earth-News-back-to-the-land-hippie-type thinking is "outdated"; most wouldn't even consider such a thing, but hey--I can dream.) ;)

And what's up with Elvis? What's wrong with liking Elvis? (I've never heard of Clinton being a big Elvis fan, anyway.)

It is something we need to acknowledge in ourselves but not make public. We know these pricks won't back down until our lines of thought don't exist. If we fire back with similar rhetoric, we look shrill. We should know our enemy and fight it but we shouldn't employ it's tactics.
