African-American Ministers in Action - C-Span press conference Friday
Did anyone see this conference in support of the fillibuster and denouncing the extreme religious right? Inspiring. People of faith saying for once "We will not go back to the way it was before" and "Since when does the extreme religious right define who is a person of faith?". This is where we should be. These folks need to be joined by labor and women in a broad movement. Is there any evidence that any of these groups are working together? I don't see it.

1. I don't know but I agree
One of my greatest frustrations is the seemingly
lack of co-ordination amoung those on our side.
But good for these guys. I'm catching the repeat
on c-span now.

unaware that this had taken place yesterday. Now the Black Caucus is on explaining why they oppose the nomination of a black woman. Says she makes Scalia look like Thurgood Marshall.

I hope that groups on the left can find a way to get together and work jointly. We can't afford to be one-issue voters now.

P.S. Elijah Cummings was awesome. Told * not to tell him about faith and morality but that * should start practicing whatever faith he professes with consistency and not base it on political expediency. And that * should devote the same attention to the needs of all people in pain and suffering that he devoted to Schiavo when he flew to DC in the middle of the night. Cummings, BTW, voted to give Schiavo another chance.
