1. I voted President because

I truly believe that he will try to do what he says even if he can't accomplish it,(not all of it anyway) whereas the others are simply going through the same old spill to get elected. I note the 11 votes for neither so I guess these are business as usual folks.

2. He's too divisive in the party
let alone in the White House. It's not that I think he's evil or anything, I just don't like his style, I don't think he can win against Bush and I don't agree with some of his policies or methods of justifying them. I do trust that his heart is in the right place, as I think all of our Democratic candiates hearts are. Maybe, just maybe, even Lieberman.

3. DNC Chair
That is exactly where I want Dean if he doesn't get the nomination. Exactly where I want him.

6. This guy managed his state for 11 balanced budgets
and only 5 re-elections.

After getting into office on a fluke. The Repub. gov died and Dean was sworn in.

He has 300% more management experience than any of the others including Clark who comes in second on experience.

7. I've thought about him as a DNC chair
although we shouldn't be held hostage by them, there are thousands of democrats who don't want to let Dean go, and seeing him on meet the press or other shows every few weeks or so might help out the party

10. If Howard Dean doesn't become President, I hope he'll run for Senate
Edited on Fri Jan-23-04 11:37 PM by Eric J in MN
If Howard Dean doesn't become President, I hope he'll run for US Senate from Vermont in 2006.

Jim Jeffords (I) will be up for re-election.

(Jeffords was a Republican who switched to Independent when he felt George W. had disrespected him.)

11. DNC chair or DHS
He'd be awesome in grassroots organizing and running the DNC internet. He's a fundraiser, no doubt.

He'd also be great to develop a real national healthcare plan, too.
