When he spoke, DeLay made only a passing reference to the problems that have sparked calls for an ethics probe.

Instead, DeLay told the crowd that as Republicans helped Americans find jobs and helped the country recover from the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Democrats offered the country nothing.

Note on the last line in bold: Had it not been for the democracy the Democrats built long before he was born, he wouldn't have the freedoms to enjoy what he's doing, like "dogging ethics questions," and speaking (lieing) freely.

12. 'freedoms' - Did people start using this in the plural after *ush showed
up? I never heard it used in the plural when people were talking @ our freedom till I heard him using it - makes me cringe. Don't know why, just the association w/ his 'isms' I guess! Ranks right up there w/ 'Homeland' to me - just a visceral reaction to the connotations.

Not picking at you, AuntiBush - it just caught my eye & I have to ask. Had a few people tell me I need to get brakes between my brain & mouth! Have you ever noticed when this use of the plural became the norm? I'm serious as a heart attack - am I nuts, petty, trivializing? (don't answer that one!)

Ever notice how concerned so many conservatives are that people envy them? Ever notice the endless social climbing? They hate Democrats for being no-account working class rabble, and they aspire to being the ruling class.

Whenever anyone uses the term "classy" or that someone "has no class", it shows the person to be a pathetic nobody in search of respect.

None of this is news, though, is it?
