I commend Wexler for submitting a plan
It is simple and affective, just raise the cap. The dem's as a party won't support it yet, because they wan't to hold out against the private accounts. After that is done, then they will support his bill. I know duhhh. But, I think the dem's should support the bill and then use it against the Repugs. A majority of people support Wexlers move and are forever going to be against the private accounts. You also can't blame Wexler, because of his district. So many seniors. Democrats could pound the issue and if nothing is done the repugs pay in 2006, if something is done Dem's get the credit and use it in 2006. If we are smart we can win big on this.

2. Wexler has the right idea
That is, take the initiative and force the Repubs to debate OUR plan...put them in a defensive position. I think it's time for the party to jump on this and take the initiatve away from the Repubs....

an additional point: At this phase, the exact policy is not important. What is important is the technique that we use. In this case, the technique is to take the initiative and go on the attack.

3. It's about time that somebody..
.... open a can of "shut the fuck up" on the Reps claiming that we are the "party of no" and "have no ideas".

Wexler did the right thing, the only question is why is he so alone?

and everyone can pay a lower rate. If the alternatves are a bigger deficit or a reduction of benefits to cover loan payments and Wall Street fees, why is anything else even being considered?

Take it away, AndyHappy!

"Increasing current revenue for SS does nothing to save the system latter. All it does is increase the amount of IOU's in the bogus "trust fund" making the crisis worse, not better in the future. Sheer idiocy."
