Is George W Bush a ruthless or a benevolent dictator??
One might quibble about the term "dictator", but you cannot deny that he hasn't imprisoned his own citizens or tortured his supposed enemies or taken control of the media with his bullying tactics. Yes, but he won in an election, they say. Well, Saddam Hussein won in an election also. What does that prove?

2. bullshit . . .
"you cannot deny that he hasn't imprisoned his own citizens or tortured his supposed enemies or taken control of the media with his bullying tactics."

there are indeed American citizens who have been imprisoned and who are still being held indefinitely, with no charges against them . . . they have no acccess to lawyers, and even their families don't know where they are . . . since most are brown-skinned, they don't receive any media attention . . . the U.S. continues to "rendition" supposed enemies to other countries (notably Egypt) for torture . . . and if you don't think that BushCo controls the corporate media, you haven't been paying attention . . . the burying of the Downing Street memo is the most recent case in point . . . not to mention other issues like Iraqi civilian deaths, the used of depleted uranium weapons, the Cheney energy meetings, the Plame affair, the stolen elections, etc. etc. etc. . .

and if that isn't enough for you, just wait . . . FEMA has detention camps at the ready, just waiting for something to precipitate the roundup of "enemies of the state" and other undesirables (gays, Muslims, whomever) . . .

just because Bush smiles a lot doesn't mean the dictatorship is in any way benevolent . . . with Rove calling the shots, it's demonstrably ruthless, with great potential to become even more so . . .
