Maybe I'm wacked---but if Frist does pull the nuke option and IF the Dems do commence to do what they said they would in basically shutting down the Senate, I'm thinking it could be the best thing that has happen under this regime!!! The more we could keep Bush's agenda off of the back of the American people, the better off this country would be. Conversely, if we get our usual cold feet and don't take things to shutting down the Senate if Frist gets his way, then the Dems might as well pack up and go home for the next 4 years because Bush will shove everything down the throat of this country without being stopped and absolutely love every minute he's screwing the average American. How I would love the sweet sounds of "take this agenda and shove it"...........

5. Yer a loon, and so am I
but only if the Dems develop some backbone and walk out. There would no longer be a reason for them to be there, since they would be able to win nothing, obstruct nothing, or simply delay it long enough to give the real lunatics time to think it over (which is what filibuster does).

I sincerely doubt any of those "New Democrat" pantywaists will have what it takes to do the right thing. They're well paid, well insured, and comfortable. There is no way they're going to stand up for country or constituents. They'll continue the "bipartisanship" of voting for whatever the dictator tells them too.

And no, I will NOT be voting for my Democratic Senator this time around. The man has caved on too many important issues to be called a Democrat.

10. If your democratic senator has a viable democratic opponent,

that would certainly make sense. However, even a wind-bending willow will be of use when the dems are again in the catbird seat. Hopefully, with the huge rise in voter outrage because of this obvious power grab, oven those of the spaghetti spine will smell the coming political hurricane.
Far better a wavering milquetoast dem than a raving reich wing serial child killer homophobe.

3. It's now being called the "Constitutional Option"
by Frist (trying to sound kinder and gentler). Have you ever heard anything so rediculous in your life?

Your theory may be correct; we'll see.

4. I tend to agree, but
for a different reason. The more we sharpen our differences with the Republicans, the clearer the situation will become to the American voter. There are some things that are just too newsworthy to be covered up by the MSM.

But, threaten as they might, the Dems will not keep the Senate shut down for long. Too much pork has to be distributed.

6. It has crossed my mind.
It has also occurred to me that (Horrors!)future history may well have it that bin Laden will be owed a debt of gratitude, despite the tragic loss of life, for cracking open the shell of secrecy that has allowed the rapacious powerful to own the world.
Their eternal grip must be broken and I suspect many more innocent millions will die early deaths before that happy occasion, if it ever occurs.

7. They should walk out because
it won't matter if they are in the Senate or not if the majority rule is applied, and take it a step further if Republicans are doing Bush's bidding then they should go home and just let Bush make the decisions.

8. Laughing at the red state kool-aid drinkers would only feel good
for a little bit, until we all had to live with it. Plus if they have true total control, there will be no reversing it, EVER!

9. We also need to keep PR war in mind
We need to keep the PR war in mind. Right now, Reid is doing a great job of painting the GOP as radicals and out of control. That is an image that we need to keep painting until the 2006 mid terms.

This could be a great PR war for us. When Newt shut down the govt, the GOP lost and Clinton came out looking like a leader. The same could be true here if we play it right.
