Lost -- a joke from Bartcop

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're 30 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude."

She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Democrat."

"I am," replied the man. "How did you know?"

"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me."

The man smiled and responded, "You must be a Republican."

"I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?"

"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, then you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met but, somehow, now it's my fault."

2. Different version I've seen
A man in a hot air balloon recognized he was off course and shouted to
a pedestrian on the ground. "Can you help me? I promised a client I
would meet him two hours ago, but I'm lost."

The man on the ground responded, "You're approximately 50 feet off the
ground, between 38 and 39 degrees north latitude and between 58 and 59
degrees west longitude."

You must be a software engineer," shouted the balloonist.

"I am," replied the pedestrian. "How did you figure that out?"

Well," replied the man in the balloon, "Your answer was technically
correct but I have no idea what to do with your information and I'm
still lost. Sorry, but you haven't been any help at all."

The man on the ground yelled back, "You must be a manager."

"I am," replied the man in the balloon. "How did you know?"

"Well," said the pedestrian, "you have no idea where you are or where
you're going. You have risen to your current position because of a
large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you can't keep and
you expect people below you to solve your problem. So you see: you are
in the same position you were in before we met but now, somehow, it's
my fault."

6. I don't know about all of that....It may be funny, but how accurate is it?
Yes, I'm a stickler for facts...even in my jokes.

The joke is inaccurate because Republicans seem to be in a better position, not the same position that they started out in.

The joke is not really a joke because the Republicans ARE running the entire country and perhaps the world... including the media, and that's truly no joke.

We can only hope that the Hot air balloon is about to crash.

The truth is....it's IS the Republican's fault.

The Catch is .....Democrats more or less helped.

The joke is....on us.
