The Answer to Reliance on Foreign Oil
is quite simple actually, except it would change the power structure in this country as we know it.

Bush and his corporate buddies would never allow it to happen. This not only would threaten American Oil companies but also some of the biggest corporations in the clothing, textile, paint, paper, plastics and food industries.

And its an annually renewable source. Simply put the answer is HEMP. It has no real measurable THC or psychoactive qualities. You can't smoke it and get high. But the War on Drugs (and industries that has created), along with multi billion dollar corporations and the FEAR installed in the sheeple by the government, keep this legitimate possible source of fuel and many other products illegal so the rich can get richer.

This is a great read, but long. If you have not read this, I urge you to read it and draw you own opinions.

2. I don't know about oil, but it could definitely be used to make
paper and thus save countless trees each year.

The problem is that the War on Drugs has so poisoned people's minds that even when you explain that industrial hemp contains no significant amount of mind-altering substances (According to one report, you'd have to smoke a whole truckload of industrial hemp to get the high equivalent to one marijuana cigarette), they keep blathering on about not encouraging drug usage. :banghead:

3. Yeah, yeah, yeah...
everybody knows about hemp, but it just ain't gonna happen for a long time.

Too many forces against it.

Stupid, I know, but since when has the human species ever been called intelligent by anything but itself?

4. Have any of you seen the Keanu Reeves (ahhh) movie called
CHAIN REACTION with Morgan Freeman? Not one of his bests, but tells the story of how Keanu and Rachael Wiest find a replacement with other scientists from hydrogen. Terrorists find out about it, and before they can come out with the news, their research building is blown up using the hydrogen like a Nuclear Missile.

Suddenly Kean and this girl are being accused of blowing up this building and killing other great scientists in the building as well as the thousands that were killed due to the explosion of the lab.

It turns out that Morgan Freeman works for some Government Agency, and it wasn't terrorists that blew up the lab but CIA agents. However, Keanu and Rachael do not know this, they think he is on their side, providing them funding through some trust he was associated with. Freeman knows he cannot let them get that information out about hydrogen replacing oil, and they must be killed or our whole economy as well as the majority of the Worlds' would fall apart. The 1929 Stock Market crash would be nothing compared to this.

The movie goes on where they are running and hiding and being hunted down. They get captured and find out those they thought were their friends were not their friends at all. They want to get the information to the media or on line so someone would have the scientific method on how to bring this about for the World, and to show the World that we nor anyone needs to continue to dig into the Earth anymore.

The movie made since. Something like this could have already happened already, who knows . . . but if it has happened or will happen . . . we'll never know about it, I'm pretty sure about that.
