5. Actually, you only need 16 for a cloture motion
and there's no debate before the vote on tuesday

7. That thought crossed my mind too but he did keep saying
he wanted a vote ---just that he wanted people to break free of party control to do so.

8. Yeah - "Vote your conscience"
I really expected Lott or Santorum to be right under Frist.
I mean, of all the republican senators, who would you NOT put in the top 10 for supporting this?

10. All I saw was Cornyn putting it out there on CSPAN

this afternoon. After the Motion is made (w/ 16 signatures) they have to wait at least 1 full day to vote on it (Meaning monday - so that'll be more debate on filibuster/owens). On Tuesday, they vote for cloture. No cloture means the repubs may or may not 'pull the trigger' or 'go nuclear' or 'shove poles up their arses' or whatever to change the rules.

11. Now this quote gets me:
Senator Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania
"I'm going to use every ounce of my energy, Wolf, to avoid confronting the nuclear option, because I think it would be disastrous for America. The Senate has a long, rich tradition for protecting minority rights."
CNN's "Late Edition With Wolf Blitzer," 02-27-05
