Man, If we screw this up and Clark does not win the nomination, I will be so dissapointed in our country. Gert is speaking now. She is Introducing Clark.

She just said that they are offering their family to help Americas' family!

I love GERT. Get to know her guys. She is an AWSEOME lady! She's an awesome candidates wife! (I'm not discounting others or slighting other Candidate Wives). I do see why though Clark would not have run with out her blessing. I also see why he says she runs the show.

I love you GERT!!! Gert is a General's General. Gert is an 8 star General.

1. That doesn't surprise me and good for Clark
I think that the higher echelons of military really do provide a training ground for the team approach to marriages. At least from what I saw. I think the wives often are quite involved in various issues and projects on the bases. While I admire Dean's wife (and Dean for supporting her need to follow her career), I sadly have to admit that a lot of Americans are not quite ready for that... Gert may well come across better for that reason. For me, as a professional female, I like and would surely admire both. What I can't abide is a first lady that lets herself be totally muzzled or is so discurious as to be meaningless, as I perceive Laura B to be...

2. She runs the show?!?!?
We don't need another Nancy Reagan. We all know how that turned out.

3. I don't believe THAT!. Compare Reagan and Clark---no comparison
Whether you like Clark or not, he is certainly intelligent, engaged, articulate, and not in the fog that Reagan so often projected.

7. Another personal story about Gert
I first met her at a meetup. I noticed this nicely-dressed lady enter with people around her. There were other "dignitaries" there as well. I didn't know who she was until she came up to my table and, holding out her hand, said, "Hi, I'm Gert Clark." That night she gave a very inspiring speech.

About two weeks later, my daughter and I went to Little Rock to participate in the campaign's "Day of Service" project. We arrived early b/c we live about an hour away and wanted to be sure to be on time. My son had had a sleepover the night before and he was sleepy, grouchy, and whiny. I finally got him to lay down in one room of the Little Rock Boys and Girls Club and sleep some more. We went to work cleaning windows. Later, Gert arrived. She took charge of one room, rolled up her sleeves and went to work cleaning the sinks, desks, and storage room. My daughter worked with her for a while. Before we left, we talked with Gert in the main room. Me being me, I said something stupid b/c I was nervous (quite unlike my daughter).

In December, my daughter and I went to New Hampshire. On the last day, we traveled to a radio station in Dover where Wes was doing an interview. When Gert saw my daughter, she said, "I remember you. You and your mother came to work at Little Rock. Ya'll had a little boy with you that slept the whole time. Ya'll are from Bald Knob." We were so impressed that she remember so many of the details about us.

She truly is a big asset to the campaign.
