1. All red staters
Do they know something the national party doesn't? Probably.

2. Well, we have a nice pool of potential Prez candidates.
Now which of these has national security experience and a squeeky clean personal life?

;)

3. As a Zonie, I can say that Gov. Napolitano addresses urban and rural issue
with equal aplomb.

She doesn't ignore the rural areas in the least--a big plus.

She rides herd over a truly bizaare state legislature, too, and she's told them "no" dozens of times and made it stick.

10. No theory, at least not yet
But perhaps Democrats in red America know more about winning there. Whatever they used to win in such inhospitable (to the national party) places like Kansas and Wyoming, we should use, but on a national scale.

12. I wonder if they would lose blue support there? That is what is
tough about national races.

11. It's because states become third world countries under GOP governments
Getting a Democrat in is like a breath of fresh air because even if their accomplishments are small, what they do for the state is a world of difference better than what the Repukes did in power. It's like Clinton getting into office after 12 years of neocon control.

5. I love it
Aren't the rightwingers raitings pretty low? My governor is democratic and I'm in Tennessee. His rating, according to this, is 52%. Earlier in the year, January I believe, it was 70. :) I think it's great we have a lot of good governor's out there. It helps me feel safe for the country in general. Hopefully they'll all be re-elected.

6. Napolitano's a pretty sure bet to be re-elected.
The Rs can't find anyone but carpetbagging Marilyn Quayle (hubby is a native, she's a bagger) to run against her. Three big names have shied away already.

I suspect the campaign will get very vicious, but Napolitano has some very high-powered allies in the state.

8. Yeah, Gov. Bredesen dropped because of the TennCare issue.
It matters not that he had no choice because the right-wingers in the General Assembly refuse to do away with our regressive sales tax and adopt a reasonable income tax.
