French fries protester regrets war jibe
It was a culinary rebuke that echoed around the world, heightening the sense of tension between Washington and Paris in the run-up to the invasion of Iraq. But now the US politician who led the campaign to change the name of french fries to "freedom fries" has turned against the war.

Walter Jones, the Republican congressman for North Carolina who was also the brains behind french toast becoming freedom toast in Capitol Hill restaurants, told a local newspaper the US went to war "with no justification".

not flat. I guess I should get better information, and stop taking so long to "catch up" with the rest of the world.

2. Stupidest man in congress
if only because he popped off without knowing French toast was a recipe developed by J. French, an AMERICAN.

Oh, wait. There has been another stolen election since then. He's got competition from Burr.

6. Pick on him all you want, but I'm impressed
Hard to forgive him for what he did. Not only was the invasion horrendous, but the whole French thing was just petty and spiteful to one of our nation's best friends.

But still, to change his position, and to imply that he thinks Bush deliberately lied... that's pretty brave.

I don't love him. I just don't hate him as much.
