3. Bush and his neocon butthuggers will declare martial law when the
hammer of justice begins to fall on their asinine heads. He's just preparing for it.

5. Yes and no
Yes, there will be martial law. No, it won't be called martial law. It'll be called the Terrorist Preparedness Act or some such blather.

6. I understand we are going to war with Iran in June. Bush's numbers will
soar. No need for martial law.

8. Martial law is the step after
the next terrist attack which will happen about the time that the polls show that the Dems will win even if Diebold is able to swing 5% of the votes to the Repugs. Then, the Repug echo chamber will claim that ML is a necessity to preserve both the republic and the administration which has valiently fought terrism for seven years.

10. They control the voting machines, so they don't need martial law
to stay in power.

11. Poppy made about 10 executive orders establishing just that in case of "any"
Edited on Sun May-29-05 07:48 PM by sam sarrha
threat to national crisis/security.. the threat is declared and the head of FIMA declares the 'Orders' in action and the Constitution is suspended for 5 years... Everything, every business and service is Nationalized, safe deposit boxes are seized, financial institutions fall under federal control, schools etc.. magistrates are assigned for courts.. I guess it is essentially the Articles of confederation.. they have never been repealed. there was a test run in the late 90's in LA against some gangs in a small area. It worked real good controlling people.

this would create massive detention centers that they could use for slave labor, using the excuse that they have to pay for themselves in time of fiscal crisis.

i had a flyer dated i think 1-10-90 or 91, i have it somewhere.. i will look for it.. i didnt have a computer then to check it out.

12. The tipping point is already past for this administration
Nobody will support a call for martial law unless the Martians have already landed and seized the NY Stock Exchange. This one is a no-brainer (which may be why we can see Bush trying it) but the fact remains that some of the people around him are pretty smart, and can see long prison sentences looming if they go along with something as insane as that.

It ain't gonna happen

17. Bingo. They are doing just fine manipulating the system in place.
They have their set backs from time to time, and it is conceivable that 2008 could be one of them. But the trend for the last 30 years has them continuing to consolidate power even while most of the public oppose them on most things. They know a good thing when they have it and will not mess with the formula. Anything remotely so blunt as martial law is unpredictable in it's consequences. They made it through 8 years of Clinton and then emerged even stronger. They are not that stupid.

13. they don't need to declare martial law
they can rig the election and the media is too weak to call them on it so there is no need to use force

14. The economy will be so screwed up that even the WSJ will be
calling for his head, and the military will refuse to cooperate if ordered they will be so sick of being forced into combat with inadequate supplies and troops.

The executive branch is filled with extremists, who always manage to dig their own grave. The Bushies are using strip mining equipment.
