Ten Most Harmful Books of the 19th and 20th Centuries
HUMAN EVENTS asked a panel of 15 conservative scholars and public policy leaders to help us compile a list of the Ten Most Harmful Books of the 19th and 20th Centuries. Each panelist nominated a number of titles and then voted on a ballot including all books nominated. A title received a score of 10 points for being listed No. 1 by one of our panelists, 9 points for being listed No. 2, etc. Appropriately, The Communist Manifesto, by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, earned the highest aggregate score and the No. 1 listing

1. Democracy and Education - WTF?!?
So we have to demonize a book because it encourages critical thinking skills instead of memorizing just enough dates and multiplication tables to get you through to the next grade? Yeah, right.

9. Dewey is amazing! And the fact that they single him out is
proof of that. They are actually plainly stating that critical thinking is not a good thing. What do they want? Absolute Monarchy?

6. Most telling are the exclusions
Like The Turner Diaries and Protocols of The Elders of Zion. Two books that inspired race-based hatred world-wide.

19. That occurred to me, as well
Though I was surprised to see "Mein Kampf" made their list. I would have thought professional courtesy, one fascist to another, would have kept it off.

Human Events
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Human Events is a conservative magazine founded in 1944.

Columnists include Ann Coulter, Terence P. Jeffrey, Robert Novak, and John Gizzi among others.

The magazine gets its name from a clause in the United States Declaration of Independence which reads "When in the course of HUMAN EVENTS. . . ." For this reason, HUMAN EVENTS is often spelled in all capital letters.

Human Events is published by Eagle Publishing of Washington, DC.

Human Events was one of Ronald Reagan's favorite magazines.
