How much $$$ would the Regional Field Dir. (S.E.) for Amnesty Intl...
make? or to put it another way, I want to apply for the job listed below to lead the Southern Office for Amnesty International, U.S.A.

I think it could be the ideal job for me, I already live in the Atlanta Metro area, I'm a Buddhist (the type of work Amnesty does is the same as what the Buddha instructs us to do) I do and have been doing, a lot of volunteer, on-line Human Rights research and activism, but not quite as much "paid work" experience they are asking for, but it's close. They want applicants to supply "salary requirements," along with a resume and cover letter.

So, here's my question: If you where in my place, how much would you put down as a "salary requirements" for this Job?

I'm 41, Single have a BFA in Photography and Motion Picture Production, and I could get by on $30,000.00 or a little more.

Any suggestions?!?

Regional Field Director, South

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should have 5-7 years of progressive experience in social justice or human rights advocacy, as well as experience planning, managing, and evaluating long-term organizing campaigns and conducting trainings; experience supervising staff, planning work and evaluating performance; and successful experience working with youth and people from diverse backgrounds. Spanish-speaking a plus.

You could hope to get $30,000. During the interview ask about raises and performance reviews.
Good luck from a fellow Georgian! :)

4. O.K., that sounds about right, Question 2...
...How long should the Cover letter be?

Most of my "experience" is unpaid volunteer work, and larger movement type stuff (like defeating * and getting Kerry elected), so Keep it short (1 to 2 paragraphs) or cover everything and fill a full page?

2. You have totally got me there
I have no idea what a regional director of an NGO would make? I suggest looking it up on the net. In the vastness of it there has got to be a page that would list such things.

3. A very quick perusal of the web...
... shows an opening cited for Amnesty International's London office for an international development deputy program director, with a salary of £32891, or about $65,000/yr. It's a pretty heavyweight job from the description, and probably several levels above a US regional director.

Still, you've got to live--why not put "~$35K," and see what they say?

Cheers, and good luck with it.
