I still smell the stench of the PNAC in the European Constitution crisis
and part of it is because the euro sunk almost immediately. I can't forget that one of the reasons the neocons were pissed at Saddam was that he was planning to sell oil for euros instead of dollars. I suspect PNAC "agent provacateurs" stirring the shit over in France and the Netherlands where you have a huge Muslim population. I don't care, I smell a PNAC rat.
In my opinion... though it worked out in their favour in terms of the Euro. Don't forget, that constitution put all European military under control of the US vis a vis NATO. That's certainly not what I want as a European.
And the Dutch were extremely pissed off when the Guilder went to the Euro and prices gouging took place. Not to mention the Theo Van Gogh murder. The French are pissed off at their own government basically and took it out on them.
5. I disagree. Don't you remember the pissed off neocons in the late 90s
early 2000 over Saddam's decision and threats over the oil with euros? Do you not know what an "agent provacteur" is? Try Hitler and the bombing of that famous building and blaming it on his opposition.
And lots of other countries are talking about it. The fact of the matter is - PNAC and the neocons have very little to do with European politics - there are too many parties over here. If anything, the Brits vis a vis the City of London (global financial centre) are in a better position to affect Europe's financial situation.
I would relate your "agent provacteur" Reichstag statement more to 9-11 than than the euro.
that the French said 'non'. It was a conscious vote against free, unrestricted markets which is what the constitution would have codified.
The Dutch vote was more nationalist and xenophobic but still had a major left wing campaign with a big impact.
It has thrown the bourgeoisie into a crisis: they want to implement their neo-liberal economic policies but risk having the French people on the streets if they do.
2. Europeans are simply showing their opposition to the global
corporate race to the bottom. Do you really think the poor in Central and South America who oppose neo-liberal policies are also part of the neo-con plan? :eyes:
People are awakening to the fact that corporations racing around the planet gobbling up resources (natural resources, middle class wealth, slave labor) is generally not in their best interests.
