8. Interesting that all this is coming out around time of Blair visit
Wild speculation: US attempted to brand several UK officials with complicity in oil for food when in fact more US officials and companies were involved. Also, Blair attemped to grow Bush a conscience last week when asking for aid to Africa and some acknowledgement of global warming; didn't work.

Has Blair been backstabbed? Was our administration so incompetent that it didn't return a serious favor to the UK? Blair certainly didn't look good coming over here and returning home with empty hands.

In this context, did the very intelligent and articulate Blair want to send a message to the blithering, clueless administration?

Will Blair this week get what he wants...then we'll see Dearlove step forward and say that his minutes were really just internal debate...musings (remind anyone of the Rumsfeld memo?)?

18. Very astute....what I've been worried about from the start.
Which is why I hope Conyers enlarges the issue to include the missing 8.8 billion and CPA corruption.

Here is my standard letter to the Media:

Dear Sir/Madam:

As you know, on May 1 of this year a document now commonly referred to as “|The Downing Street Memo” was released into the British Press. This document raises serious question about how the administration was handling intelligence related to Iraq and appears to suggest that the Bush Administration had already decided on war when publicly it was claiming that no such decision had been made. Now further documents have been released in the British media which cast even further doubts.

These documents and other documents suggest that the Bush administration was determined to “fix intelligence” around a predetermined policy. Some of these documents make it clear that the administration had no credible plan for dealing with the post-war occupation.

It is most disturbing that there has been a virtual media blackout regarding “The Downing Street Minutes” and other disturbing documents.

Even more disturbing is the absence in the America media of any credible in-depth follow-up discussion or coverage regarding strong, credible and independent evidence that the Bush Administration intentionally mislead the U.S. Congress, the media and the American people.

I do hope you will accept the responsibility to address this issue and provide serious investigative journalism into this matter.

Furthermore, on Thursday June 16, 2005, Rep. John Conyers, Jr., ranking minority member of the House Judiciary Committee, and other House members will hold a hearing to consider testimony concerning the Downing Street minutes and questions of possible fixing of prewar intelligence. I do hope you will be giving full coverage to these events.

Sincerely,

19. It can't be any plainer. AGAIN.
This is surreal. Somehow, I've got to enjoy the journey, or I'm going to lose what happiness and moments of laughter that are left. This is depressing. What is WRONG with people? I looked up into the sky about 10 am on 9/11 from my LI, NY home and asked this question...about the terrorists.

Now I ask it about our administration. Now I ask it about our media. Now I ask it about our citizens, who are apathetic, or live in denial, or self involved or what ever they are that makes them uninvolved. I have to feel sorry for people like this, my parents taught me as a child, when my soaring spirit was crushed by unfathomable actions or lack of humanity.

If I don't hope for recovery from this horrific reality, I'll lose my ability to enjoy the journey. I REFUSE to let lifes' purpose go. It's the people that matter damn it.. it's the people. Everything else comes second.

All our answers are in black and white. They lead to more answers, yet those who can investigate, aren't asking the questions.

This is surreal.
