1. just another example of the media whores double standard
Edited on Sun Jan-25-04 11:01 AM by ixion
it's cool to be associated with total whack jobs like Ann The Man, Bill O'LIEly or Oxy Rush, but should a dem be associated with a liberal but at least respectable film maker like Moore, suddenly it's an issue right up there with Jako and Laci Peterson.

2. most of America does not thing he's terrific
far too liberal and he pissed off everyone who owns a gun.

Even Hollywood booed him when he did his rant at the Ocsars.

His base of appeal is rather small.

3. I don't think it really is.
Clark has such a variety of endorsers that anyone can tear down whichever one they wish.

I certainly haven't agreed with Moore on everything and I see where he has been slack in fact-checking, but he did this country a great service with "Roger and Me", "Bowling for Columbine" and by exposing Mother Jones as an elitist anti-blue collar magazine.

5. To everything, spin, spin, spin
The media whores want to paint every Dem as negatively as possible, because with Dean wounded, they're not sure who will come out on top. They paint Michael Moore as some terrible person because they don't want the truth to come out about Bush's time in the Guard.

You realize that even if he wasn't technically AWOL, the Repukes can't hide the fact he was given special treatment in getting in and in not being sent to active duty when he refused the physical. What I want to know is why there wasn't a hearing questioning his absense from the AL Guard? More favoritism?

These are the arguments I'm posting on other boards when freepers come on and talk about Moore and Clark. They seem to be working-the freepers don't have any answers.

9. Because Micheal Moore is seen as a left-wing Rush Limbaugh
As a Clark supporter, I was upset to see that Micheal Moore decided to endorse Clark. He just has too many negative associations in the public eye.

11. It isn't. It's called "begging the question" in logic. You avoid
the stated issue by reshaping it into a different issue based on your agenda.

So, instead of attacking Clark's position on workers' rights or education, the opposition goes after his supporters. This refocuses the attention and dominates the debate.

And it's a doublebind: if Clark responds by embracing the challenged supporter, the media says, "See? We were right! Clark's opinions are exactly the same as Moore's "; if Clark distances himself from Moore, he is seen as a political opportunist who shows no loyalty and appreciation of anyone who publicly stands up for his positions.

What Clark has to do is to rebuke the media for not challenging him on his positions and his opposition to * and his policies.
