McClellan admits bin Laden is in Pakistan without knowing it
Q: Can we conclude then that we are -- the U.S. is receiving 100 percent cooperation from the country or countries that Porter Goss believes bin Laden is hiding in?

MR. McCLELLAN: We are receiving good cooperation from the government of Pakistan. They are a partner in the global war on terrorism, and they have been working with us to go after al Qaeda and Taliban remnants. They understand the importance of staying on the offensive and going after the terrorists to disrupt plots and prevent them from carrying out the attacks.

President Musharraf recognizes the importance of going after those terrorists and bringing them to justice before they can do harm. So we appreciate the work that the government of Pakistan is doing to partner with us in the global war on terrorism.

Q Porter Goss said in Time Magazine that he has an excellent idea where Osama bin Laden is, and that perhaps the problem is that sanctuaries -- that sovereign nations are giving sanctuary to Osama bin Laden. First of all, does the President have an excellent idea of where he is? And --

MR. McCLELLAN: I think what -- okay, go ahead, I'm sorry, finish your question.

Q And then the second question is, -- is he complaining about -- it sounds like he's complaining about Pakistan.

MR. McCLELLAN: I think what the Director is referring to was that he has an excellent idea of what area he may be in. If we knew exactly where Osama bin Laden was, we would go get him. I can assure you of that.

In terms of the cooperation with Pakistan, we have good cooperation with Pakistan in the global war on terrorism. We appreciate all that they're doing to help us track down al Qaeda leaders and Taliban remnants, particularly along that border region with Afghanistan. And so we appreciate the work that they're doing.

Since the reporter asked about Pakistan, it's not safe to assume that he was giving away where they are hiding Osama.

4. Yep, he sure did!
I bet Mr. Goss is getting a 'talking-to' for telling the truth, an anathema to the bush cabal.

5. Not necessarily

The borders are porous in that neck of the woods. Osama probably runs in and out of northwestern Pakistan, southern Afghanistan and eastern Iran without the knowledge of the authorities in any of those countries. He doesn't need a passport any more than Pancho Villa did.

The US is receiving cooperation from Pakistan. Fine and well, but McClellan was giving a lot of answers yesterday that didn't relate to the question. This answer may not have related to the question, either. He could have said that the US is receiving cooperation from Colombia. That's also true, but it doesn't have anything to do with where Osama is at the moment.

I don't know what Goss meant by he had a good idea where Osama was; however, it was probably something he should have kept to himself; Osama is probably not in the same place now he was when Goss made those remarks. In addition to that, there is no reason to take anything a Bush regime official says at face value. It is entirely possible that Goss' remarks are empty and simply made for public consumption.

9. I think that is entirely possible
It is certainly not beyond them. The Bushies don't believe in democracy; as far as they are concerned, the public has no right to know.

Nobody in this regime has any credibility. When a regime spokesperson speaks, his words have no meaning.

8. The border region between Pakistan and Afghanistan is not under
Musharraf's control and it makes perfect sense that bin Laden would find security there. I do agree with you that bin Laden, most likely is mobile and does move in and out of more than just Pakistan.

The border area of Pakistan that would be most likely to harbour and provide safety to bin Laden is "the restive border regions of North and South Waziristan.":

"The Pakistani army has faced its strongest resistance in its operations against al-Qaeda in the restive border regions of North and South Waziristan."

6. Bush* Doesn't Care where Osama is...
He said so, on camera (amazingly enough!)

Not finding Osama avoids all those nasty conflicts of interest w/ the Saudi Royals, into who's asses Bush's nose is permanently implanted.
