Ousted activists plan tour
By Rocky Mountain News
May 21, 2005

Activists say they plan to be more hospitable than White House event organizers when they start hosting their own town hall meetings on Social Security next month.

Backers and critics of President Bush will be welcome, as a group calling itself The Denver Three kicks off a series of events across the country to highlight its Don't Privatize My Freedom campaign, organizers said Friday.

Alex Young, Karen Bauer and Leslie Weise are trying to keep the pressure on White House officials as the Secret Service investigates charges that GOP operatives evicted them from a March 21 event in Denver simply because they arrived in a car bearing an anti-war bumper sticker.

The group announced plans to host Social Security panels in Colorado, Arizona, North Dakota, New Hampshire and other states where activists say they were blocked from attending Bush's taxpayer-sponsored events.
