CNN's Republican-skewed poll has Bush speech at 46% positive
CNN polled 50% Republicans for this poll.

CNN) -- A poll of Americans who watched President Bush's Iraq speech Tuesday night showed that 46 percent had a "very positive" reaction to what they heard.

That compares to 67 percent of poll respondents who answered the same way to the president's "mission accomplished" speech May 1, 2003 -- two months after the war began.

The poll sample was 50 percent Republican, 23 percent Democratic and 27 percent independent, and the margin of error was plus or minus 6 percentage points.

The percentage of those with a "very positive" reaction also was down from the 60 percent expressing the same sentiment after Bush's State of the Union speech in February.

1. What a crock!
Why even bother polling if you include 50% Repugs. Just say 50% thought it was great and let it go at that. No muss, no fuss.

6. They said they actually had 1000 people who said they would watch.
They talked to them prior to the speech but when they called them after the speech, only 1/3 of the people who SAID THEY WOULD WATCH, actually DID WATCH. That is why the numbers were so screwed up.

2. I think they are actually terrible numbers considering 50% of
respondents were Republicans.

Bill Schneider said the numbers are actually lower then the approval numbers for a standard State of the Union.

7. They were honest on air re. this poll -- said many more Repubs watched...
so numbers were skewed. But still, only 46% positive....

8. IMO, this looks real bad for Bush.
If 46% percent like it -- and 50% were Republicans, that means that ALL the independents and Democrats didn't like it -- and Bush didn't get all the Republicans.

I think he's toast -- and he knows it.

The tepid reception from the military was very telling.

9. Not uncommon for a flash poll
It is more likely that Republicans will be watching a Republican president's speech.

What's telling is given the sample's tilt toward Republicans how bad of a reaction he got.

11. Also on CNN tonight: 45% approval rating for *
And Nixon was the only president in the first year of his second term to be lower, at 44%, and that was at the height of the Watergate scandal!!

12. WTF??? Why do they SKEW the poll for the Repugs?
I don't understand! How can this be allowed? It's borderline fraud, if you ask me.

They are out-foxing Fox News!

Another thread here is linked to the cnn.com poll...
But it's hard to vote because CNN has reset it to ZERO several times already.

Try it yourself:
(down on the right side)http://www.cnn.com/

One DUer who actually saw results reported it at 78% negative...

And now their "Biased-from-the-start" poll is only 43% positive? ROFL!!!

Friends: B*sh is TOAST! Stick a fork in his ass, cuz he's DONE!

Worst...Resident...ever...
