Tomorrow I am going to Columbus for the John Edwards Minimum Wage Rally!!!
I have finally talked my mom into taking me and I think its gonna be a great time. It is about time someone began the fight to raise the minimum wage.

So What should I take with me when I go, a camera obviously. This is only the 2nd politcal gathering I have ever been to, my first was a Kerry rally in October.

LOOK I was even mentioned on the One America Committee Blog, how exciting I wish I had a chance to meet Edwards that would be like a dream come true.

1. Congratulations!
Sounds like a great time. Be sure and take water! By the way, it is ashamed that the min. wage is not raised but our Senate just got a $3,100 a year raise.

2. You'll have a great time.
I hope you get to meet Edwards. I got to shake hands with him at a rally in Johnstown, PA last fall.

His speeches are very good.

3. You'll enjoy Edwards -- you'll be seeing one of the best speakers around.
He is tops at communicating his ideas and connects with a crowd like gangbusters. Enjoy the day.

I got a chance to shake his hand and meet him in L.A. last July, and my wife got a hug from him. All she could say later that evening, (besides "Mmmm, he even **smells** GOOD!" :)) was, "I wish I'd brought my camera...I wish I'd brought my camera...I wish I'd brought my camera..."

So, be **sure** to take your camera!

4. Take a camera for sure...
Water sounds like a good idea to me, especially if it's going to be as hot there as it is here in NYC. Also, if you think you might get a chance to meet him, something appropriate for him to sign...Do you have his book? That would be a good thing to get autographed.

Have fun and report back to us, OK?

5. Lucky you!
I've never been able to see him in person, but all those that I know have stated how they were moved by him and how he can reach out to a crowd.

You will have to post and let us know how it was and don't forget the pictures!

7. What you take depends on what kind of rally you go to...
Edited on Wed Jun-29-05 02:35 PM by SteppingRazor
What I take to a WTO protest is much, much different than what I take to a John Edwards rally, to say the least.

The camera, of course. Make sure to take some water, too! And cash. That's the only definite necessities I can think of.

On the politics side of this, man, I feel so sorry for minimum-wage activists. Sen. Kennedy has proposed a minimum wage increase every year since the last year it was raised, and it has been soundly defeated every time. Just sad.

9. Yea But Instead of Bush Deciding to raise minimum wage
Edwards is rallying supporters to get it put on the ohio ballots so the people can actually have a say in it.
