Great quote from an Iraqi on shrub's speech and
the Chimp's claim that he is fighting terrorism by drawing terrorists to Iraq:

"Why don't they find another place to fight terrorism?" asked Abdul Ridha al-Hafadhi, 58, head of a humanitarian aid group.

(from http://www.juancole.com today)

Excellent question, Mr. al-Hafadhi. We'd all like to know the answer to that one.

1. I really like that question. How about trying Afghanistan?
We lost at least 17 soldiers there today...but all Cheney and Bush can talk about is the 'success' we have had in Afghanistan.

2. I hear ya. I'd go so far as to say that if they'd thrown the resources
at Afghanistan (170,000 troops and 3.8 gazillion dollars) that they squandered in Iraq...
1. Most of the troops who've died for nothing would still be with us
2. Pat Tillman would be playing football this season
3. Osama bin Laden would be killed or captured already

Last but not least, thousands upon thousands of Iraqis would still be alive and well.

5. More than a few Canadians on this board
might take exception to that.

7. What a NIMBY
Oh, you don't want the dump/homeless shelter/halfway house/war on terror in your neighborhood? Tough! The community needs to throw away trash/warehouse disadvantaged groups/have a scapegoat to detract from the gross incompetence of the sitting administration, and if we don't put in in your neighborhood, it has to go somewhere, right?

/sarcasm
