Poll question: Dean Supporters ONLY: Which other candidate would you most prefer
Edited on Sun Jan-25-04 04:19 PM by WillyBrandt
Suppose that Dean does not get the nomination. Which of the following three candidates would you most prefer get the nomination instead?

(Yes, I'm purposefully limiting it to Clark, Edwards, and Kerry.)

2. Edwards has become my second choice
It was Kucinich but I'm in reality I don't think DK has much of a chance. I like Edwards on most of his issues and think he could be a good president.

3. I'm really liking UNNAMED DEMOCRAT
He has the longest run of beating Bush in this year's primary.
He never goes negative
He's doing terrific with virtually no support
Only the Republicans seem to have anything bad to say about him.

7. I have some small reservations about both Clark and Edwards...
...but would take either of them over Kerry without question.

8. Not much of a choice here,
but Clark is the only choice for me. I was looking for Kucinich, although I'm still pissed at him for trading places with Edwards. Clark at least has a grass roots following which I respect. Needs to be Independent or 3rd party choice here.

9. You don't have a "none of the above" choice,
as of today, I'll have to take a rain-check on this poll.

10. Clark, by a nose.
That's a hard choice to make, because I'm becoming more and more impressed with Sen. Edwards every day.

11. Bucking the trend
I have to go with Kerry. Experience and loyality mean a lot to this thirty + Democrat.

12. Since Kerry and Clark are the DLC's pics I would have a hard
time voting for them, but all the others would be fine.

13. If I can't have Dean I would probably go for Edwards.
Edwards because he's a pretty face and people like that and he doesn't have a track record which can be attacked.

Unfortunately in this world of George W. Bush, a longer track record is just a larger target.

15. Definitely Clark
We need an outsider to change things in Washington, and I believe he would do the best on the war on terror.

16. General Clark.
Dean supporters, be aware that John "I'm Mr. Positive" Edwards had his campaign workers disributing very negative material the last hours of the Iowa caucus against Howard Dean.

Edwards's "postive" campaign proved to be just another poltician's lie to get elected.

At least Gephardt, Kerry, Kucinich, Sharpton, Clark and Lieberman have been men enough to say what they feel publicly about Howard Dean.

Edwards has now apologized (only after he was forced to admit it), but the damage was done.

All I ask is that you keep this in mind.

19. It's an easy choice.
Clark didn't vote for the war resolution, somehow...for me, supporting Kerry would be the same as rewarding him for the deaths in Iraq. Unlike Edwards, Clark has the health-care plan most similar to Dean's. And after listening to him speak in town halls and in public meetings, I am impressed how he wins over voters when discussing the need for developing a long-term strategy...like Dean.

20. Wes Clark is the one!
Followed by Edwards because he is a regular guy and not one of those Skull & Bones freaks.
