Downing Street And Rove Scandal Are Intimately Linked

I think it would be a lost opportunity to wed the two scandals together, because they are, in fact, strongly connected if not inseparable.

Both instances show the Bush administration's contempt for truth, with political gain above all.

If they weren't so determined to arrange intelligence to support their ends of regime change, Wilson's revelation would have been no offense.

And prepare for Jeff Gannon's return to the spotlight. I bet he's involved in this too.

The DSM documents state that the strategy was to fix the intelligence. Karl Rove was going after Wilson's wife because Wilson left the reservation and refused to fix the intelligence about Niger yellowcake. They needed that info so they could use it to tell the people and the world that Saddam was creating nuclear weapons. Now, as we know, Bush ignored it anyway in his SOTU message. Karl Rove's leak only proves the DSM documents to be the Bible of this scandal..

Well, actually, that would probably be some documents from the early 90's written by Cheney and the Pentagon hawks. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. The American public's attention span only lasts about as far as a summer of the shark.

One day I'll get into the heart of the Downing Street memo, which would tie together Chalabi's Iraqi National Congress and Richard Perle's Office of Special Plans (who made it all possible). But that's another argument for another day.
