& until they come out (of if they're even gay) I have to take exception to their names being on the list.

That being said in my typical holier-than-thou rant, I voted other for Andrew Sullivan.

22. Because the question was:
Who's the most self-loathing, hypocritcal gay Republican?

Drudge is the only one that is out. In fact I'm not even sure if he did come out.
Poll result (61 votes)
Matt Drudge (4 votes, 7%) Vote
Joe McCarthy (1 votes, 2%) Vote
J. Edgar Hoover (1 votes, 2%) Vote
Ken Mehlman (30 votes, 49%) Vote
Scott McClellan (3 votes, 5%) Vote
It's a tie (9 votes, 15%) Vote
Other (13 votes, 21%) Vote

He was outed by David Brock in : "Blinded By The Right"

Drudge picked up David in his red geo metro..... with yellow roses.....brock: "God Matt thinks we're on a date"

(edited to add)
I don't think he's owned up to it tho.

45. I'm not sure how to answer that.
Until someone 'outs' them self, I really don't like speculation on whether they're gay or not. Drudge has not outed himself, that I ever heard of. I remember Brock in Blinded by the Right outing him, but that's it.

The others on the list are mere speculation. I wouldn't doubt if some were gay, but again I don't like speculating. I find it sort of offensive. I don't know why; maybe because I find it mean & nasty. The right does it all the time with women -especially strong women-accusing them of being lesbians. Like all the innuendo about Sen. Clinton & AG Reno.

If someone is 'out' & gay bashes, or gay bashes & then is outed (I'm thinking of the guy in Washington) have at him with my blessings.

46. I beg to disagree and agree
I'll agree with you that it's improper to speculate on the gayness of a person. However, in circumstances where a powerful person is clearly and overtly hostile towards the gays, I believe its fair game to discuss the root cause of thier hostility. Frankly, I believe men are so hostile to gay men because they are intimidated by the emotions that gay men illicit in thier subconsious desire. They feel threated by that shame and lash out with hatred. This is unreasonable and actually dangerous as it applies to men of power. For this reason, to out someone through speculation actually serves to strengthen the country and should be open for debate. For the record, I have no gay freinds. I do have freinds that may in fact be gay but I really don't give a shit, they're not making any laws based upon some irrational fear of shame and self-loathing. Jeff Gannon's boyfreind is one that probably fit that mold.

48. I'll agree to agree & disagree also. lol
No really, to speculate why there is such animosity toward gays by some is probably fair game. When my boys were younger they went through a very short bit of that name calling bull. I told them they must be questioning their own sexuality if they were so concerned about everyone else's. However, I kind of disagree w/why some so called adult men seem so hung up about gays. I have a long, probably boring theory on what the problem is. However, I would expect adult men to get over it.

you make a rational argument about why I should just shut up about not speculating.

49. No, you're actually right
I was just trashing them a bit. It's stupid and childish and no ones business which side of the corn cob you like to chew on. But this is something we should be aware of, this irrational hatred, and focus in on it. I guarantee you, if we can link gay bashing to latent homosexual tendencies, the Contitutional Amendment to Allow Gay Marriage will pass with flying colors.

18. Neal Horsley
From Top Ten Idiots #198

Neal Horsley, infamous pro-life militant and occasional spokesman for the fundy terrorist organization "Army of God" admitted to Alan Colmes last week that he had had sex with a mule. Seriously. And the strange thing was, Horsley seemed to think that everyone else did that sort of thing, and the only reason that city-folk didn't know about it was because they were so out of touch with rural values. What a crackpot! Here's a partial transcript from Alan Colmes' radio show:

Colmes: Is it true?

Horsley: Hey, Alan, if you want to accuse me of having sex when I was a fool, I did everything that crossed my mind that looked like I...

Colmes: You had sex with animals?

Horsley: Absolutely. I was a fool. When you grow up on a farm in Georgia, your first girlfriend is a mule.

Colmes: I'm not so sure that that is so.

Horsley: You didn't grow up on a farm in Georgia, did you?

Colmes: Are you suggesting that everybody who grows up on a farm in Georgia has a mule as a girlfriend?

Horsley: It has historically been the case. You people are so far removed from the reality... Welcome to domestic life on the farm...

...

Horsley: You experiment with anything that moves when you are growing up sexually. You're naive. You know better than that... If it's warm and it's damp and it vibrates you might in fact have sex with it.

That bald guy has darker hair and skin than JimmyJeff. But of course that doesn't exclude Junior's strange facination with bald men's heads. It could very well be a sexual thing.

But as far as biggest gay republican hypocrite, I'd have to go with our own state's local contender Jim West, who frequented gay chatrooms on public computers, then offerred jobs to the guys he dated, all while supporting anti gay legislation.
