Did this guy on C-SPAN say they're considering a Recruitment Bounty?
Edited on Tue Jul-19-05 02:52 PM by IanDB1
Something like, "If you get your buddy to enlist, you get $1,000."

Vic Snyder, Democrat, Arkansas I think.

Caller just said Bush's daughters should enlist!

1. Not unusual...
The Army will currently give rank to those that enlist others. Usually E2-E4....

2. This has been in effect for at least 6 months now. My husband is a 19 yr.
vet and has served in DS back in '91 and in OIF from 03-04. They set this program up at least 6 months ago. I remember posting about it a couple of times in the GD forum but most folks paid it no attention. I had an actual copy of the letter at the time that they sent out to everyone. I can't remember all the text but I am pretty sure it ended with something like:

Happy hunting and chaccchhhiiinnng!

because I was so disgusted.

Anyway, it's already going on and has been for a good while.

5. Well, I don't think you could actually get the bonus if you are not in BUT
go to your local recruiter office and tell them how you know enlistment is down (be forewarned, if you're the right age they are gonna jump on you) and you want to help out. See if they will give you brochures and their business cards and frequent places that Repukes hang out with that info. Study up the material so you can talk with them about it and seem legitimate. See if you can find out the names of local folks in the guard unit (try to pick good guys/girls, not * bots) and write their name on the back of the recruiters card. When they go to talk with the recruiter ask them to please make sure they give the card to the recruiter and if they sign up, make it through boot camp and are actually considered "in" then your person will earn the $1,000 (supposedly). It would be really good if you could find a cool guard person that is against the war and * and tell them you are going to put their name on the back of the cards. Also remember anything you say could come back to hurt them so keep it legit and not overly political if you are going to use a person's name unless they understand you are going to be really confrontational with the Repukes. That kind of thing could really hurt someone who is still in the military. They really have very limited first amendment rights compared to you or I. Well, that's my suggestion. Sorry, I don't have a way for you to earn, but you could help out an underpaid soldier if you are really serious about trying to get young repukes to sign up. Good Luck! LOL

4. They should give you double that amount if you turn in a relative.
Maybe they could get the parents of the Young Republicans to turn in their kids. Repukes seem to do anything for money.

6. Does the recruit have to be conscious when they are delivered?
Just asking...
