Okay, so its Roberts. I don't give a fuck.
Well, I actually do give a fuck, but that doesn't matter. My giving even two fucks won't matter. There's no way this guy won't get confirmed.

Yeah, yeah ....... nuclear.

Forget it. It won't work. It won't fly. The gang of 14 won't coalesce around a filly buster. Even Buster's filly won't pull that wagon.

The best I see that we can do its cast symbolic votes. All Dems voting no ... let it go straight to the coveted 'upperdown' and be done with it. fast. Like yanking a Bandaid off an almost cured scab on the part of your arm with hair. Pull it fast and the pain quickly subsides.

The fact is, I fear this guy is Scalia II. Fat Tony and Little John. Kinda snappy, huh? Oh .... speaking of 'snappy', I almost forgot Slappy.

Now anyone is free to call me a defeatist. I'd rather think I'm a realist. This guy was just recently confirmed by essentially the same Senate we have now. He has a thin paper record. All his argument against Roe was - and will be - couched as the good work of a client's advocate and not necessarily his own views.

If we fight this, we WILL lose .... not just in Congress, but also in the court of public opinion.

All that ought to come from this is a renewed resolve to get these motherfuckers out of office as soon as we can ..... like starting with Congress in 06.

That ..... and hoping that Fitzgerald does his job well and true.

And those vacation snaps of Abu Gahrab are due back from the One Hour Photo kiosk by what ..... week's end?

And that trial just starting in Cleveland.

Yeah, we have other issues to worry about.

But this one ....... forget it. Its all over. Better we ignore it and allow all the air and sunlight to go to issues that we still have some hope for .... and maybe even some control of.

Flame away .........

1. You'll get no "flames" from me.
I say we KEEP THEM ON THE ROPES!!! They are shitting themselves, IMO. When have they ever changed strategy mid-stream? They did this purposefully. Lets not give them the REACTION they want.

Peace.

3. We must stay on OFFENSE and keep them on DEFENSE!
It's obvious they're feeling the heat, announcing a SCOTUS nominee during a hyped prime time news conference is highly irregular.

Chimp is feeling the heat, bet on it.

8. Hell yes. Did you see that suppressed smirk he had tonight?
Almost like..."Watch those liberals scatter." Screw him. IMO, we need to keep the pressure on. The nominee won't even be debated for 5+ weeks.

Those rat bastards are shitting themselves. We need to keep up our momentum and NOT relinquish the power back to those vile assholes.

Peace.

2. I see no reason to fight this
It will get us no where, and he will be approved no matter how hard we fight. Let's get the focus back on Rove and his crimes.

poll numbers on Roe vs Wade? Isn't it over 60% think it should stand or higher?

rover wants the heat taken off of him..let's NOT oblige him!

6. "The good work of a client's advocate"
This isn't like a defense attorney representing someone he believes to be guilty. You DO NOT take a case like Rust v. Sullivan unless you believe in the position you're espousing. Which makes Roberts an anti-choice pig (sorry, pigs).

7. I'll see your point and raise you an agreement
But then I ask .... so what?

The point you make is quite reasonable and rational. And I agree with it. But it gets us nothing more than an academic point. It won't matter in Realityville.

9. What else could we get from this cabal EXCEPT an anti-choice pig?
My apologies to pigs, as well.

10. The whole thing is a plot.....a wrench in the mess..
NeoEvangelicals have been very quiet lately, especially during the Rove mess. Little man bush is trying to get the Evangelicals to fight the democrats once they democrats start talking against Roberts, and that gets little man bush off the hook on his mess.

The real problem is that maybe little man bush can shut down the press for a while but he can't cancel the investigation, nor fire Fitzgerald. I think the case will get worse and will reach bush/cheney and all those criminals damming our country.

12. Very smart view!
Really.

Let them have this guy and give the efungelicals NOTHING to get upset about .... at least against Dems. In fact, let's let the Dems actually find reason to PRAISE this guy ... and turn the efungelicals AGAINST idiot son.

Wouldn't THAT be a gas! :)

13. Like Carville said "When your opponent is sinking..."
"throw the motherfucker an anchor!"

Let's keep those LTTE's flying and the airwaves pumping. The MSM smells blood in the water, and there are a lot of newbies out there looking to be the next Woodward & Bernstein.

Let's hope their greed keeps them motivated to stay on the story.
