July 20, 2005

After pretending to consider various women and minorities for the Supreme Court these past few weeks, President Bush decided to disappoint all the groups he had just ginned up and nominate a white male.

So all we know about him for sure is that he can't dance and he probably doesn't know who Jay-Z is. Other than that, he is a blank slate. Tabula rasa. Big zippo. Nada. Oh, yeah...we also know he's argued cases before the supreme court. big deal; so has Larry fFynt's attorney.

But unfortunately, other than that that, we don’t know much about John Roberts. Stealth nominees have never turned out to be a pleasant surprise for conservatives. Never. Not ever.

1. This is a good thing! Ann Coulter is an AH, for sure, but she's not

stupid. I think it's a great thing that she doesn't like Roberts. I'm sure she can sway some of the fundies to oppose him, if they don't already, but I doubt it will sway any of the Pub Senators to oppose their President's wishes. This also could be a good thing for Dems. If the fundies get pissed at the Santorum's and Alan's of the Senate, they won't vote for them, that that's ALSO a very good thing!

6. Not A Good Thing

This is not a good thing. Many of the other Conservative group are completely happy about this. Many people regard Coulter to be completely off the wall. This is not just the opinion of some lefty liberals; this is the opinion of some people that we would consider far right. So just because Coulter is unhappy about this does not make it a good thing. In addition, Coulter could just be doing this in that she realizes/thinks that if she comes out against this guy some liberals who would normally be against him will support him.
