Although his name did not appear on the briefs, three sources who were personally aware of Judge Roberts' role said he gave Republican Gov. Bush the winner at a time when Republicans feared that if the recount were to continue the courts might force a different choice.

Okay, everybody who says that Roberts is an acceptable choice... here is a report that he told Jeb Bush how to "constitutionally" name Bush the winner if the recount proved that Bush got fewer votes.

And what was a DC law firm with ties to the presidency doing advising a state governor on how to put the slip to American voters by overturning a legitimate election? They were gonna steal it one way or another, but do we really want a judge who was apparently willing to help Jeb Bush undo an election should that need have arisen, ie, if SCOTUS had not pulled the worm out of the tequila bottle and made Bush president? Was that kinda just "representing a client" or was that a more insidious example of a willingness to engage in situational ethics and moral relativism? How partisan does a nominee have to be before he/she is ineligible for Americans' trust? Just asking.

Or was this just a behind the scenes political tricksie, the kind where partisanship rules and no license is needed?

Somedays I wonder how much more of this shit I can take. These guys are so heavily coated with teflon it is simply mind boggling! It will take decades to undo the damage they have done to our republic, & that won't begin to happen as long as election fraud is never addressed.

In spite of the fact that it feels hopeless somedays, I'm still here & I'm still involved. Most of my dem friends are no longer involved with politics at all. They don't keep up on anything going on, they don't want to hear what's going on. ARGHHHH!!! I refuse to do that regardless how hopeless I feel. It was my years of apathy that helped get us in this mess.

But somedays it's hard to stay in the ring!

I've been politically active for so long that most people simply KNOW what will be coming out of my mouth.

I've been a drum beater since the late 60's, and even before that as a very young kid. Got the bug when I was around 12!

What is going on now is a phenomenon that is totally UNREALISTIC! I'm sure I won't be able to get it out of my blood, but being constantly CONFOUNDED is certainly putting a KABASH on my enthusiasm!!

I think a great deal of it stems from the fact that I feel we are not only getting royally screwed, but that we HAVE NO real leaders these days. Oh, a few here and there, but mostly D.C. looks like Wimp Town to me! What is even more irritating is I can't FIGURE it out! I recall a time when things looked gloomy, BUT there were the Abbe Hoffman's and many many others out there to take a stand. And it MEANT something. These days, and even though it may seem tongue in cheek, I actually think we are in a state of ANARCHY!! This is NOT A DEMOCRACY that I've ever seen!!!

So I'm royally PISSED!!!

If the info above is correct, I say, when we talk about this, remind people that FL would have be WON by Gore, if they had done a real recount. I don't remember who or how it was done (i'm sure there are hundreds here who do know), the recount that is, but I recall hearing that after the election was over, they did a real recount and Gore won.

Roberts helps slip Bush into WH, Bush gives him plummiest job.

Just sickening.

I suppose the next nominee will be Ben Ginsberg.
