Will Hillary vote up or down for Roberts?
Edited on Thu Jul-21-05 12:29 PM by quinnox
So far, she released a statement saying she will make a decision once the hearings are taking place and more information about him is forthcoming.

It might be tricky because she says on her web site she will consider all supreme court nominations in the light of preserving the right for abortion (on another section of her website - under the woman issues section) but if Roberts stonewalls enough and doesn't give a solid indication either way then maybe she will vote yes for him if he is well qualified and it might be better politically for her? (with a future run in 08 in mind)

I think it will be interesting how she votes.

1. She will probably vote for him
but give a long schpeel before it saying that she is worried about this about him and that and Bush this and that but then go ahead and vote for him because the Pres should have who he wants.... just like they all did for the Iraq war, for the other circuit justices and for all the other crazy shit that shouldn't have passed but has.

2. She will vote for him
so that she can go before the voters as the "New Moderate Hillary" who is an Independent thinker. Yes, she will say that many of his positions bother her, but, heck it's the best we can get from this president.

3. Being from New York she could probably get away with a nay
Of course her Presidential ambitions might sway her another way.

It's the red state Senators that are going to end up voting for this guy.

and any other thinking person who believes
in the right of privacy, one's own health
and financial futures.

5. Hillary will vote no on Roberts.
She'll have plenty of reasons for doing so.

6. Depends on what her poller's tell her & how her handler's want to spin it
It is all about getting elected, fuck morality and what is the right thing to do, just another political hack.
