83 Die in Car Bombs at Egyptian Resort
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20050723/ap_on_re_mi_ea/egypt_explosions

Several hours after the attacks, a group citing ties to al-Qaida claimed responsibility for the explosion on an Islamic web site. The group, the Abdullah Azzam Brigades, al-Qaida, in
Syria and Egypt, was one of two extremist groups that also claimed responsibility for October bombings at the Egyptian resorts of Taba and Ras Shitan that killed 34. The group also claimed responsibility for a Cairo bombing in late April.

2. My dad was right. The Mihops will happen out of this
country now. Too risky to do it in country but still the fear levels must be kept elevated.

I am so sorry for the innocent victims who have been caught up in **'s war on terra (firma).

3. Have you noticed
how little coverage it's getting?

Probably because it's in a brown Muslim country?

6. Do you mean on DU?
It is late now and it is possible that threads have been added since this morning, but frankly, what was striking this morning is how DU people did not care (and it was on TV everywhere).

5. How do you think BushCo will spin this?
Will they say, "See? The terrrists are still out to get us! Still need that Patriot Act!" Will the terror warnings escalate? Will this bump Rovegate?

Is this a good distraction for them?

7. Sad but true.
Most Amerikans don't have much empathy for bombings in non Western countries. Maybe they are too remote to identify with. I don't think it's about race, skin color as some have stated. It's about proximity of likeness in my view. People identify with other people like themselves or countries that are allied with their own. Also, there have been so many bombings lately that many people are sapped out of emotion.
